We all knew it was coming,
and now it’s finally here. Android “L” was officially unveiled earlier
today during the first half of the Google I/O 2014 opening keynote. As
expected, L packs quite a long list of both user-facing and
developer-centric features.
In a surprise turn of events, Google has decided to make the
developer preview images of Android “L” available for the Nexus 5 and 7
tomorrow morning. Join us as we take a closer look at what makes
L important.
Material Design
Perhaps the most immediately noticeable user-facing change in Android L comes courtesy of Material Design. Previously known as “Quantum Paper,” this new UI paradigm redefines how you will interact with your device.
As we mentioned earlier, Material Design brings a fresh, new look
that is inspired by paper and ink. This new UI also features a new
elevation value to give a unique perspective to an app’s different
components, and the overall look is able to reform dynamically with
surfaces that respond to motion and touch with splashes of animated
feedback.
Notifications
Notifications were also given a healthy boost . In Android L, lock
screen notifications can now be interactive. They are also now
ordered based on your usage habits and what matters most to you. And if
you happen to be in a full-screen app, heads-up notifications are also available.
Recents
Building on Material Design and Notifications, Android’s core UI has
also been upgraded through changes to the recent apps menu. Thanks to a
new API, applications are now able to populate multiple pages in your
recent apps menu.
With Recents, individual Chrome browser tabs to live alongside native
Android applications. So now, you can manage and switch between your
Chrome browser tabs just as you would manage and switch between
applications, seamlessly.
ART and Improved Performance
As we first noticed thanks to recent changes to the AOSP master branch a few weeks ago, Dalvik is out and ART is in.
This was officially confirmed during the keynote, and L will run
exclusively on ART compiler, which according to Google provides on
average a 2x performance improvement over Dalvik, fewer Garbage Collect
pauses, less RAM usage, and readiness for 64-bit computing.
In addition to CPU performance increases, GPU features have been
increased. With Android Extension Pack, game developers are able to make
use of features like tessellation, advanced lighting and more–bringing
Android’s graphics capabilities to near feature parity with DirectX 11.
Project Volta and Improved Battery Life
What good is an improved UI and speedier performance if your phone is
out of battery, right? Luckily Google is also approaching the battery
life issue with Project Volta.
While not much is known about Volta at this time, we do know
that Android will offer a very robust Battery Historian UI (seen in the
screenshot on your left), which will allow you to see what is
responsible for your battery woes in great detail. In addition, Volta
also offers a new Power Saving mode, which reduces device performance in
favor of better battery life. This mode can be automatically enabled
and disabled depending on battery level and charging status. Finally,
Volta also brings a new JobScheduler API that allows your app to be more
battery efficient for non-critical tasks.
Developer Preview
Last and certainly not least, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) users will
get to enjoy the Developer Preview version of Android L.The images will be posted for download on the:- Android Developer Site
Did L bring everything you were hoping for? What is your favorite
Android L feature? Is there anything they forgot to add in that you were
hoping for? Let us know in the comments below!

Are you tired of installing same apps again and again after installing new Rom or factory resetting current Rom?
Well, We have been experiencing the same since different Roms and
Nightlies are out. A tool which would
make it easier for you to try different Roms and install those apps in
just one shot.
What is this tool about?
Android Flashable Zip Creator is a tool for those who oftenly flash
new roms and want an easy way to install apps, change kernel or
bootanimation. This tool allows them to create a normal as well as
flashable zip with aroma installer that they can flash anytime in their
rooted android device. Not only this is helpful to end users but also
helpful for developers who release different version of their kernels.
Why is it required?
Imagine that you’re flashing the latest nightly of your favorite ROM.
If you are performing a fresh install by wiping all of your data, this
also means that you have to flash all of your modified system apps, user
apps, modules, and so on. And if you’re doing this on a regular basis,
all the wasted time really starts to add up. So what do you do? Do you
manually install these apps again, or do you add them to your favorite
ROM? That is where this tool is helpful.
How is it helpful?
This tool provides you two types of flashable zip as per your selection.
- You can create a normal zip file which you can directly flash into recovery.
- You can also create Flashable zip file with aroma installer which
will provide you customizations and lets you choose what to install and
what to skip.
This tool allows you to add as many as group that you want
- This is helpful to developers who release different version of their kernels.
- Also it is helpful for users who like to change bootanimations frequently.

Is framaroot work on my device ?
If your device is in the compatibility list above, the short answer is :
yes but it depends of your firmware version, latest firmware have less
chance to be rooted.
If your device is not in the compatibility list and it embed one of the
processor mentionned above, the answer is : try it and see.
Why framaroot doesn't root anymore after I update my device ?
Because framaroot exploit security holes present in several devices
which has been patched with update you have done, so exploits can't root
your device anymore. Framaroot's exploits have a very short life to
keep your device "less exposed" to others malicious application. Keep in
mind that framaroot is not a permanent rooting application.
I loose root after update, what I can do to root my device now ?
An advice : if you want to have a chance to keep root after update,
don't update with Kies or ODIN for samsung devices or don't flash system
partition, prefer OTA update and use OTA survival feature in Superuser
or SuperSU.
And if you have no choice, you can use the traditional method : flash tools specific to your device
Will framaroot include more exploits ?
Yes, but don't ask when since I don't know myself, it depend of the vendors fix response.
Framaroot crash when I select Gandalf exploit ?
Often the first time you launch Framaroot by selecting Gandalf as
exploit, it crash Framaroot. Don't worry, in this case you have to
re-launch Framaroot and select Gandalf again, the second time it should
work.
What means error# on result ?
All errors less or equal to 9 mean your device is not vulnerable.
If you get error#10, give a try with Framaroot 1.5.3.
All other errors need some investigation about your kernel image.
Framaroot say Success but SuperSU is not installed after reboot ?
Maybe there is some additional protection on your device or something goes wrong with SuperSU version embedded in Framaroot.
In this case, I recommend to use "Execute script" action and put your
own shell script commands in /sdcard/custom (use at your own risk, all
commands are executed with root privileges). Look at this post to know how to use custom script.
What can I do when the result is Half-success ?
You see this message when the /system partition on your device is a
read-only filesystem (eg: SquashFS). To handle this case Framaroot try
to use a trick by adding "ro.kernel.qemu=1" in file /data/local.prop. To
test if this trick work you have to reboot your device and connect to
it with adb shell. Once connected type the "id" command to see if you
are root.
If you are not root, your last chance is to select "Execute script"
action and put your own shell script commands in /sdcard/custom (use at
your own risk, all commands are executed with root privileges). Look at
this post to know how to use custom script.
By now, you might already know a thing or nine about Android L, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating
system. You may also know that developer previews for the Nexus 5 and
Nexus 7 (2013) are now available to download and install.
They're hardly in final form and not totally stable, but you can
install them on your own accord, and I’m going to show you how.
Note:
This method is relevant for installing any and all Android factory
images from Google for Nexus phones or tablets. If you want to go back
to another version of the OS, simply download the appropriate file from here and perform the same steps below!
First up, head over to this link to download the Android L developer preview.
The builds are named by the devices' code names: the code name for the
Nexus 5 is Hammerhead and the Nexus 7 is Razor. After the file is
finished downloading, extract it to your desktop for later use. The
extracted file will be a folder named either hammerhead-lp79 or razor-lp79.
Now,
find the folder that the ADB and Fastboot files currently reside in and
open it. Open the folder your just extracted, highlight all of the
files and drag them into the ADB folder.
Open
a command window to your ADB folder by holding down the Shift button on
your keyboard and right click on the open folder. Click on the Open command window here option. (On a Mac you'd use Terminal.)
Just to make sure everything is correctly setup, we’re going to run a few commands first.
In the command window, type in adb devices. The window should return List of attached devices with a combination of letters and numbers below it. (something like 01vu6m6633fgh39r device).
If you do not see this after typing adb devices,
something is wrong and you won’t be able to continue until it is
fixed. Assuming your device was found, type in the following command to
boot your phone into bootloader mode: adb reboot bootloader
Give the phone a few seconds to boot into bootloader mode, and then type the following: flash-all.bat. This will begin the flashing process.
After
a few minutes, your Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 will reboot. You’ll be presented
with the new boot animation, and it may take a while to fully boot up,
so give it some time. You’re good to go! In short:
Many times android users face the problem of low phone memory. It is
often required to download large HD games via Play Store. But
unfortunately because of low space, you do not get to do so. You say
many bad things about your device, but not no need of all those things,
swapping of the SD card (phone stoorage) with an external SD card will
work.
Requirements:
1] A fully-rooted android device.
2] Root Browser.
Note:
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!!!
Here are the steps:
1] First of all keep in mind that this will work only if the phone is
rooted. So if you are not, go ahead and search google on how to root
your device.
2] Download and open Root Browser (any). Go to system/etc and find the
file 'vold.fstab'. Make a backup of that file and save a copy of it
somewhere ( for restoring it if anything goes wrong ).
3] Open that file as a text file.
4] Find these lines: (the may vary from device to device. This is for canvas series. May be same for others like sony, etc.)
Hello guys, do you want to take your android device to a higher level?
Go grab this boot animation. This is my all-time favorite boot animation
which I am going to share with you.
Warnings
FOR HDPI DEVICES (480x854)
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING AND DON'T BLAME ME FOR BOOTLOOPS
STEPS:
1. Download the file from below.
2. Open root explorer (download from play store).
3. Go to /system/media and paste the file there.
4. Extract bootaudio.zip and Copy bootaudio.mp3 to /system/media (check if a file with same name exists there)
